July 1, 2010More-Metal.com conducted an interview with U.K. rockers THE QUIREBOYS at the Sweden Rock Festival, which was held June 9-12 in Sölvesborg in southern Sweden. Watch the chat below.
2009 saw THE QUIREBOYS, everyone's favorite lovable rogues, play 103 shows in 16 countries in support of the 20th anniversary of their debut album, "A Bit Of What You Fancy".
THE QUIREBOYS' acoustic album, "Halfpenny Dancer", was released in March.
Led by Spike Gray, one of rock's most recognizable frontmen, THE QUIREBOYS take a detour into Americana and country. The CD features reworkings of QUIREBOYS classics ("There She Goes Again", "Mona Lisa Smiled"),overlooked fan favorites ("King Of New York", "Pretty Girls"),and an eclectic choice of covers (JIM REEVES' "He'll Have To Go", LEO SAYER's "Can't Stop Loving You" and a stripped down version of UFO's anthem "Love To Love", a nod of the hat by Spike to UFO frontman and early QUIREBOYS manager, Phil Mogg).
The current lineup includes original front man Spike Gray and guitarist Guy Griffin together with Paul Guerin (guitar),Damon Williams (bass),Keith Weir (keyboards) and Phil Martini (drums).
